The beautiful scars that save

“What’s that?” “What is the light?” “It’s beautiful!” Doctor: “The tracks of my tears . . . Time travel is damage, like a tear in the fabric of reality. That is the scar tissue of my journey through the universe, my path through time and space, from Gallifrey to Trenzalor. . .  My own personal […]

It takes the Doctor to show you how brilliant you are

What would happen if Donna never met the Doctor? How would Earth handle the Racnoss, the falling Titanic or the Sontarans? In this episode Turn Left (Series 4/11), the question is answered. Aided by a familiar blonde time traveller back from a parallel universe (Rose), Donna travels through time to stop the alternate time line […]

The difficulties of a Time Lord’s Timeline

Just sharing a fun pic that captures the timey-wimey nature of Doctor Who (last series).

My times are in your hands…

‘There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission.…’ I include this here for a couple of reasons. First, purely for nostalgia’s sake (before the Doctor appeared in Australia in 1965 we kids found our chills in The Twilight Zone as well as in The […]

Girl on Fire

I'm Ash. I love Jesus. I'm a wife and a mum. I'm a teacher. I'm also studying my Masters of Counselling. I started studying a few years after started the very hard work of engaging my own story of harm and trauma. This is a place where you'll hear my stories, as well as the stories of others. I'll also reflect on faith, healing and walking with Jesus. I pray that these words might encourage you to do your own painful but life-bringing work of examining your own stories, and allowing Jesus to heal the parts of you still locked in shame. For He came that we might have life, and have it to the full. Welcome, fellow traveller.
